Quick answerMost first-time visitors are best served by a 4 or 5 night Kashmir package covering Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. Choose 3 nights for a short break, 6–7 nights to add Doodhpathri or Gurez Valley. Price depends on season, hotel category and vehicle, so ask for a quote with your exact dates.
Kashmir is small enough to cover the main valleys in under a week, but distances on mountain roads take longer than the map suggests. A good package balances sightseeing with enough time to actually enjoy each place — a shikara ride at sunset, a slow morning in Pahalgam, a snow day in Gulmarg. This guide explains the most popular Kashmir tour packages we plan at Tiranga Tour & Travels, what they include, and how to pick the right one.
Popular Kashmir tour packages at a glance
| Package | Duration | Places covered | Best for |

| Classic Kashmir | 4N / 5D | Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg | First-time visitors |
| Complete Kashmir | 5N / 6D | Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam (overnight), Sonamarg | Families, relaxed pace |

Every package can be customised. You can swap a destination, add a houseboat night, upgrade hotels or keep a free day in Srinagar. See live packages on our tour packages page.
Classic Kashmir 4N/5D itinerary
This is the package we recommend most often for first-time visitors. It covers the four big names without rushing.
Airport pickup and check-in. Evening shikara ride on Dal Lake and a walk along the Boulevard.
About 50 km, roughly 1.5–2 hours each way. Ride the Gulmarg Gondola (Phase 1 to Kongdoori, Phase 2 towards Apharwat when open), meadows in summer, snow activities in winter.
About 95 km. The route passes our home town of Pampore, famous for saffron fields, and the Avantipora ruins. Explore Pahalgam and the Lidder river; Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari are visited in local Pahalgam taxis.
About 80 km from Srinagar along the Sindh river. Thajiwas Glacier on foot or pony, with an optional local taxi towards Zero Point when the road is open.
Nishat and Shalimar gardens if time allows, then drop at Srinagar airport.
Complete Kashmir 5N/6D itinerary
One extra night lets you stay in Pahalgam instead of making it a long day trip — the single biggest comfort upgrade for families and older travellers.
Check-in, shikara ride, local market.
Gondola, meadows or snow, back to Srinagar.
Thajiwas Glacier and the Sindh valley, back to Srinagar.
Saffron town of Pampore en route, evening by the Lidder river.
Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari by local taxi, then drive back.
Mughal Gardens if time allows, airport drop.
For a honeymoon, we usually swap one Srinagar hotel night for a houseboat and add couple-friendly touches. For the Gurez Valley Expedition, the drive from Srinagar via Bandipora and Razdan Pass takes about 5–6 hours, so it needs at least two nights in the valley itself.
What a Kashmir package usually includes
Always check the written quote, but a standard package from us normally includes:
- Hotel, houseboat or homestay stays in your chosen category
- Breakfast and dinner (MAP plan) unless you ask otherwise
- A private vehicle with an experienced local driver for transfers and sightseeing
- Airport pickup and drop in Srinagar
- Driver allowances, fuel, tolls and parking
Usually not included, anywhere in Kashmir:
- Gulmarg Gondola tickets (booked online, prices set by the operator)
- Pony rides, sledges and local union taxis at Pahalgam and Sonamarg
- Entry fees for gardens and parks, lunch, and personal expenses
A trustworthy agency lists these clearly so there are no surprises on the ground. If a quote says “all inclusive” with no detail, ask what that means.
Best time to book a Kashmir tour
| Season | Months | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | March – May | Almond blossoms and the Tulip Garden in Srinagar (usually late March to April). Pleasant days, cool nights. |
| Summer | June – August | Green meadows and the most comfortable weather. Peak season — book early. July–August coincides with the Amarnath Yatra, which adds traffic around Pahalgam and Sonamarg. |
| Autumn | September – November | Golden chinar trees, clear skies, and the saffron harvest around Pampore in late October to early November. |
| Winter | December – February | Snow in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, skiing season. Gurez is usually cut off by snow on Razdan Pass. |

Frequently Asked Questions
How many days are enough for a Kashmir tour?
Four to five nights is enough for Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg at a comfortable pace. Add one or two nights for Doodhpathri, an overnight in Pahalgam, or Gurez Valley.
What is the best month for a Kashmir tour package?
April for tulips and blossoms, June for green meadows and pleasant weather, October for autumn colours and the saffron season, and January for snow in Gulmarg. Each season suits a different kind of trip.
Are Gulmarg Gondola tickets included in the package?
Usually not. Gondola tickets are sold online by the operator and prices change, so they are paid separately. We can guide you on booking them for your dates.
Can I customise a Kashmir tour package?
Yes. Every Tiranga Tour & Travels package can be changed — destinations, hotel category, houseboat nights, vehicle type and pace. Share your plan on WhatsApp and we will rework the itinerary.
How much does a Kashmir tour package cost?
It depends on the season, number of travellers, hotel category and vehicle. Send your dates and group size through the enquiry form and we will share an exact, itemised price within about 2 hours.
